It's getting frosty, PNW Oppos. What are your preparations?

I picked up a trailer hitch to install to the frame, bolt on. And I’ll be getting shackles and a proper receiver for tow straps. Winter tires are on, and I had the lower half of the car vinyl wrapped to protect the clear coat.

Now, I’m not really needing to get the recovery boards AestheticsinMotion got, because I’ve never really neede d them. Locking diffs for the win.

And I know I said I’d get skid plates, but that may end up on the backburner thanks to my finances getting monkey wrenched when the bleed valve on my left rear caliper snapped.

What are your preparations for a potentially frosty 2019-2020 winter?

I put a spare blanket and pair of warm boots in my trunk. Still have to find my scraper though, but that’s it.

Put my scraper/brush in the car, put on new wipers, winter tires are in place, took the battery out of the Camaro and took it down to the basement and moved it forward enough that I could put the snowblower behind it. The last two were really depressing. I also cleaned up leaves and started the snowblower to make sure everything was good to go with it. I do need to go fill my gas cans with ethanol free gas for the blower.

Do you live local to Everett? I'm looking to borrow a snowblower if we get the apartment parking lot snowed in again.

Buying a subaru? lol.

Realistically, I should buy some sort of winter tire for the Forte.  Swapped on my all seaons onto the Fiesta.

I'd need a snowplow in that case. Bwahahaha!

Bought some new winter tires....need to get them on my rims yet, and get the rims mounted. My snow brush is already in my car in it’s 3D printed mount up under my rear parcel shelf, so that’s good.

I have an...eventual (no date yet?) appoint scheduled to get my earlier rust re-repaired (because the guy that did it did it wrong the first time...) and an undercoating done. Otherwise, all set! Still very much fall weather with no signs of snow anywhere yet...we usually don’t get any until mid-late November or in December here in Nova Scotia these days...

I’m going to put little hats on my outdoor faucets, flannel sheets on my bed, and firewood by the fireplace. Then I’m going to check that the 4Runner   has an emergency kit and chains in it, and start thinking about swapping out the cargo rack for the ski rack (which I can’t do for a couple weeks anyway because I have a road trip coming up that will likely require the cargo rack).

Then, I’m going to hope my steep driveway doesn ’t freeze because I will definitely fall on my ass attempting to walk my dog if it does.

Put a winter coat, gloves, boots, scraper and three sand bags in the bed. Honestly if it’s anything like last year I'm looking forward to it. That was a lot of snow and super fun!

Moved into the winter beater- my so-ugly-it’s-almost-cute (but still ugly) Crosstour. Thankfully the last windstorm blew all the leaves into the neighbor’s yard, so that chore is done.
